Successfully developed part in ASTM A148 85 - 105 in precision casting

We've just successfully developed a part in ASTM A148 105-85, in precision casting process.
We met problems of heat treatment and thermal crack during the sample development. 
For this part, it needs first heat treatment, then rough machining, then heat treatment again, then
precision machining. For the heat treatment, the steps and temperature must be proper and reach
the quired data, otherwise, it will cause problems for following process.



This part is developed for our customer from United States, applied in the trucks or trailers, with high
requirement of the tensile strength and yield stength.

We need to make test bars to test the properties required, that is :

Tensile strength: 725 Mpa min.

Yield strength: 585 Mpa min. 

Elongation: 17 % min. 

Reduction of area: 35 % min.

Anyhow, we've gained experiences of making such high required parts in special alloy steel, which helps
a lot for the similar parts in the future.
