The lost-wax casting is also called investment casting, which is one of the most popular method to make the
metal parts in high production rate and low machining allowance.
The usual materials used are as follows:
Austenitic stainless steel: 201, 303, 304, 316, 316 L, 1.4581, etc
Alloy cast alloy: 4140, 4150, 4340, 16Mn, GS-25CrMo4
Carbon steel: 1020, 1025, 1030, 1040, 1045, GS 38, etc.
Weight range: 0.01 kg to 100 kg
Accuracy class: CT 4 - CT 7
Surface roughness: Ra 1.6 to Ra 12.5
Standard: ISO, DIN, BS, AISI, ASME
